I am so frustrated. I have increased symptoms. Swollen legs, swollen hands and joint pains on toes and fingers. A mild molar rash on cheeks. Rheumatologist does not take the single stranded dna test but takes the double stranded dna test which comes out normal.
Has anyone else experienced this during diagnosis process?

Find someone who will truly listen to you, but make sure you have all your symptoms written down on paper to show them...details too.

I understand your frustration. I have been diagnosed with Lupus and Fibromyalgia 5 years ago. Even went for a second opinion confirming both ! Since I still have pain, latest (3rd) rheumatologist confirmed I have Ankylosing Spondylitis with blood positive HLA b27 gene and symptoms. They don't know if I have Lupus bc I have some positive blood tests and not all - however, I did have all before ! I feel your pain ! It is so frustrating not to know for sure!! Sending hugs to you ! Keep me posted on what you find out !

Yes you must have the ANA test to confirm your Lupus. Unfortunately you have to be your own health advocate. I cannot believe your rheumatologist didn't know what test they give you SMH
