I know I am overweight and that is part of my knee pain. I have tried every weight loss program out there. It is just my husband and me and he definitely doesn’t need to loose weight. I have lost weight but always gain it back plus some. My dieting usually stops because he doesn’t eat what I eat and I get tired of fixing different foods for two people. I would like to know if anyone has lost a substantial amount of weight and how did you do it. I’ve got to find a way.

That’s great you’re going to PT. Have you tried compression stockings for your legs? They help mine so much.
I lost 70 lbs using the Wahls Protocol plan and lifestyle. I’m in year three of PT. (I’ve had a lot to come back from.)
I focused on foods and lifestyle to build my health and healing, knowing the weight would come off as a result. I have another fifty (plus) pounds to lose.

I had PAD not in the veins but blockages in the arteries. It never lasted over a year when they put stents in. You might should have them check the arteries. I went to PT. It caused me a lot of pain but I completed it and legs were much stronger. I kept exercising after PT.

@A MyLupusTeam Member Welcome to the Lupus Team. I need to loose weight too. You may have been here a while and I just haven’t had the pleasure to meet you.

I understand that cooking for two thingy. But I started cooking the low carb and meat and my husband has loved everything. I eat smaller portions than he does and he did need to loose some. The High Prednisone caused him to get heavier. I don’t know what happened to me, but when my legs weren’t getting enough blood it slowed down my walking. Diabetes hit soon after.

I went from 120 to 158. So I understand your struggle. If I walk at least 3 times a week or go to gym 2 times it helps me to come down a small amount. I have lost 13 lbs but that is it. It has helped my lnees and back.

I went to YouTube and researched the diets to see which ones would be something we both would eat. We had tried different things but this one worked for us.

I fix enough meat, fresh veggies, fruits and sugar free deserts. My husband loves it. Usually they recommend the Mediterranean and the Paleo seems to bring it off fast from my friends who do it, but they can’t maintain it.

Looking forward to getting to know you. If you look close at my picture you see how big my belly was. Lol.

@A MyLupusTeam Member. @A MyLupusTeam Member I second the Wahl’s Protocol. Dr. Terry Wahl is an MD in Iowa with MS. She went from being in a wheelchair to remission by using food as medicine at the cellular level. I lost 25 pounds and my migraines went away. God bless 😇

I use the 20-30mmhg. I had full length stockings. They made my legs feel great! I scaled down to knee highs for summer but just realized today they sent me the 15-20mmhg. I like the Jomi brand on Amazon.
