I've noticed within the last year my nail beds are very sensitive & the area by my cuticles constantly ache. When i got my nails done, i got gel and noticed that when i cured the polish in the uv light my nails and fingers were so sensitive and in pain under the light. Almost like they were on fire and stinging , Has this happened to anyone else and is it lupus related ?

I was told by my doctor not to do my nails. Polish was ok but no gel or acrylic. He also said no hair dyes. Basically no chemicals that are capable of being absorbed by the body.

I don't know if it is related, but, I used to have long, strong natural nails. In the past 6-8 months, they are weak, sensitive, break easy and won't grow.

i get, a rash when lamp light is directed onto my skin, if I'm under it for a prolonged period of time. i found that if I throw a thin see-thru material over the lamp shade it's enough 2 blocks the harsh ray's of light.

I remember a few years back lole 3 id say my bf treated me to do my nails (hands and feet) and when i came back i was feeling horrible and was flaring and ive never gotten em done like that again. My bottom of my feet were super red and achy. Im not sure what they did but it wasnt good. Then i got em done at a ladys house and it went super good and that time i did the gel nail. So maybe it has to do with the chemicals and products they use
