Hey Super Lupers,
For those of you who have done the vaccine shots 💉and are considering getting a third shot, have you had an antibodies test? Seems to me that that should be a necessary step before we shove another shot in our arms. 🤔Thoughts? Feeling? Love to hear from ya.Thanks in advance.💜
If you are on prednisone it will mask the immune response so the correct answer should have been “ if you take prednisone, or anything that modulates your immune response, you will need to temporarily stop it for awhile ( talk to your rheumatologist), then you will need to wait a few days before restarting it so that your body has the time to provide a good immune response.” For myself since I take Humira I needed to be off it for about two weeks, then get my shot, and I can restart my Humira three days later. When I received the information from Kaiser one of the recommendations for getting the booster was actually listed as needing prednisone or immune modulation meds, going through chemo, being immunocompromised, and a few other issues.
Have had my vaccines. I don’t even think about antibody testing. It is what it is. I just take the best care of myself, fresh air, sunshine, exercise, clean diet, rest, & a positive attitude. So far it is working .
Received my booster third vaccine pfizer today. Only issue I had was a sore arm. Feeling great otherwise.
If you are choosing to get the booster ( third shot), schedule soon. They expect to have a lot of people deciding to get it later- December, when the next big wave of Covid hits. I personally do not want me or my family waiting in long lines at Kaiser out in the cold like last winter.
Thanks for the input gang. I will be getting my 3rd shot next week. Was just curious if I garnered any antibodies from the first two. My pharmacy will run the antibodies test for $25.00.
