Hi saw the neurologist twice last year when I had my big flare up and on those 2 evaluations, my knee reflexes were both hyper ( the right one was worse with a clonus). Three weeks ago when the physiotherapist checked for these reflexes, I had none. She thought it was weird and told me there might be a problem with my lower back discs on L3 or L4. When I went to my NP’s appointment last week, I asked her to check them and again and there was still none but maybe a slight 1 (0 is none, 1 is very… read more
I found out that I have Severe Spinal Stenosis. My Rheumatologist sent me for an MRI/CT Scan a year ago, he then referred me to a spine and back doctor! I had 3 spinal injections in September that provided relief until the New Year. I will get another low dose cortisone in my spine on Tuesday. These injections have helped manage the pain in my lower body (hips, legs, knees and feet)! I love to stretch, lift and tone but I have been unable to so for over 6 weeks! The struggle is real and a challenge daily! We are here for one another! Blessings AnotherRounda, UT
Good grief Susie, apparently we have a lot of issues in common. I’ve had back problems for years. About 20 years ago I herniated my L4/L5 disc. Hurt like hell and I couldn’t walk for about two weeks. With alot of meds on board and physical therapy for a month, I was able to walk but had to use a cane for about a year. My last MRI (about a year and a half ago) showed pretty severe compression below that disc, along with arthritis and bone spurs and 4 bulging discs. I went to PT again and now try to do my exercises at least every other day. It does help but my back always feels on the verge of catastrophe. My legs are week and I do have peripheral neuropathy. I refuse to do surgery or shots and totally rely on physical therapy at this point.
You definitely need to get that MRI …….
I just went to ER a week ago due to my right foot (on the bottom of foot and 4 toes are numb all the time) here to find out that in my lower back I have scoliosis and arthritis around it and it pinching a nerve. Now I’m waiting to hear from a spine specialist, it explains why my right leg gives out and my hip hurts. Maybe you should talk to ur Dr maybe a pinched nerve. Hope this helps.
DesireeFalcone Make sure he does the entire spine with the lumbar spine also. I got all the others cerebral and cervical spine MRI and a Ct scan of the thoracic spine but nothing in the lower spine 🤦♀️.
This is happening to me right now. My Dr had me going for a Brain MRI with contrast and a spine MRI. He was talking possible MS
