I have been researching infrared saunas to help increase the immune system, but not seen anything about whether they are safe for cutaneous lupus patients. The research shows improvements for white blood cells, but don't want to trigger a flare due to photosensitivity.

I get flares that are triggered if I go to a mall that uses infrared in their security systems. I would think that it would cause me flares if a sauna used infrared as well. I am not sure.
