So I’ve been having a lot of UTI’s and small kidney stones for a couple months now. I had urine and blood work done and my pcp said not to worry. I’m still worried since kidney disease is part of Lupus and I’ve been in soo much pain. I checked the labs myself and it said I have a trace of protein and wbc. I made a apt to see a urologist on Wed. I just wanted to know what is your experience with kidney disease and is my symptoms how it starts out??? Thank you

I am not sure either. Don’t have kidney disease, but get uti all the time. Always did.
Your urine/blood will often show the proteins and elevated wbc when you have the infection. I do know others on here with nephritis, so I hope someone sees this.

The WBC and protein may just be caused by the UTIs/stones. I diagnosed with kidney disease around 7 years ago before my lupus diagnosis. There’s an easy blood test to check kidney function- I’d ask your pcp to run it just to be sure. It’s called a renal panel where they check kidney function and also check electrolytes.
