So there is no chart re: how long we can be in the sun with spf from head to toe and be protected. Only thing is DONT go in the sun
I don’t love the cold neighborhood pool so I sit under an umbrella and watch my daughter but this summer we are taking a trip to Florida and I will be going in a pool…
So how long could I go in without the fear of going into a flare

I went to Florida to visit a friend. I wore SPF clothing, high SPF sunblock reapplied every half hour, etc. I did not go swimming. I wore a huge hat. I came back with a bad reflective sunburn from the water; didn’t think about that. My blood levels, particularly ANA and CRP were elevated. Obviously everyone is different but this is how my trip effected me and my condition. You may want to speak with your rheumie before you go; 🤷♀️
I mean just to see if they have other advice for you. Not if you can go or not; 😂
I walked to my mailbox and back last year (five minutes tops), had UV shirt, pants and brimmed hat. Was one of the worst flares I've been thru. So like HenryEY this summer I'm spending fun time from sunset to sunrise as well. I hope this isn't your case and you can enjoy your trip to Florida though!
I too am extremely sun sensitive. My dermatologist told me to wear a minimum of 50spf applied every 2 hrs whether I think I need it or not. Also, wear the wide brim hat, no matter how goofy it looks.
I think it depends on the person and how they are at that point. This year 5-10 min with short sleeves, no hat and sunscreen do me in. Long sleeves, hat, sunscreen buy me about 30 min this year.
