Has anyone ever suffered from this? Its a narrowing of the esophagus thats causing my food to get stuck or not process as fast as others. They say that it is advanced for my age and i have a hiatal hernia sliding as well right near my esophagus. I think they will want to do surgery but i just want to know if anyone else has experienced this before?

I had to give up spicy food, tomato sauce, citrus ( orange juice ), all soft drinks, all liquor, stay away from smoke, Listerine mouthwash, !! Yep, it's a totally different way of learning how to heal and feel better!!

I have had my esophagus dilated twice. Actually was done as part of my upper and lower scope appointment. So sedated and back home within 2 hours. I also have had bariatric surgery, that was an overnight stay. I know they often fix hernias at the same time, but I didn’t have one at that time. You will be blessed and breeze thru❤️

Yes I have esophageal motility and have had it for over 30 years. I get my esophagus dilated when needed. I have had it done about 8 times. I also had a hernia and reflux and had surgery in December of last year. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

It really isn't a big deal. You are in and out the same day. You feel fine afterward. Maybe a slight sore throat. I had it done 1 year ago ND have to have it again soon.
