Many people with lupus talk about pain in their backs and hips. I was wondering if there is a specific issue that lupus causes in the back.
I have severe osteoporosis in my lower back. It’s probably indirectly caused by lupus because I’ve taken prednisone for 28 years. But I wouldn’t have been able to do all the things I was able to do those years if I hadn’t taken it!
I have a hereditary back problem dince 13 yrs. Old. My mom's side. I feel all I have experienced led up to lupus diagnose in 2020 of Jan. I feel I was born with it. Didn't appear till I was 48 yrs. Lupus stinks. Glad I have my Lupus fam to help. I love 💘 my lupus fam. Happy Fall.
I definetly think Lupus plays a big part with spinal degenerative disc disease and everything else
I would like to know this too. I have spinal osteoarthritis and facet joint disease. I have had two spinal surgeries for herniated discs and bone spurs. I was only in my 30s when I had these surgeries. Diagnosed with lupus at age 37. One rheumatologist told me these diseases are "totally unrelated". A spinal surgeon told me he thinks lupus caused my spinal issues. A neurosurgeon told me there's "no way to know". Different answers from everyone!
I'm concerned about going through those kinds of surgery with lupus. Have heard of so many failures.
