I have osteoarthritis in my hips and lower back. Lately the pain I have feels muscular not bone. My legs are so stiff and sore I shuffle. I take Plaquenil 200 mg twice a day. I take meloxicam too. I have a lot of stress at work. Do others have hip joint and leg pain? I still don’t know much about lupus! Any insight would be appreciated. 😊
I also have bursitis in my hips and have had steroid shots that are very helpful.
Joint and muscle pain are common, though hip joint involvement is not so common and is more likely OA (osteoarthritis) related, I suspect.
Yep me too have you any x-rays etc lupus does predispose to many health issues and it does damage the spine anyway hugs
Hi @A MyLupusTeam Member I'm adding you to my team and invite you to do the same. I too have lots if pain in my hips, lower back and thighs. The more active I am the muscles burn and are really painful. Currently am taking 90mg cymbalta, 50 MG azathioprine (IMURAN) 2x daily 7.5mg of prednisone and Hydrocodone as needed. I do okay as long as I am not doing alot of walking. After grocery shopping I am pretty much done for the day. I think my rheumatologist will be fine tuning my meds in the future so hopefully will have less pain. I hope you are able to find what helps with your pain.

Welcome Janice365, glad you found us🤗Yes, Lupus is notorious for muscle and joint pain. My biggest pain area is my right arm joint/arm at the shoulder. Can't lift my right arm above my shoulder.🤗😘
