My sister developed lupus about 6 to 9 months after having a complete and total facelift. I have read that having something like that done is equivalent to having a transplant. Have you ever read any connection between extensive plastic surgery and developing lupus?
Have you had any scans that showed surgical clips that were left in my body? I have heard this is not uncommon.
About 25 years ago, a study in the New England Journal of Medicine reported a connection between silicone breast implants and lupus, but the data was shaky and somewhat questionable. Avoiding any unnecessary procedures or surgeries makes sense, as the stress could trigger a flare.

I’m almost positive that my sister‘s surgery contributed to or even caused her lupus, but that was a really massive trauma because she had an extensive facelift and an eyelift and she was out of commission for like a month. I had my gallbladder removed in 2012, and although it triggered my irritable bowel syndrome something awful and I couldn’t eat for a long time and almost starved to death, I haven’t noticed anything else out of the ordinary. It’s a pretty simple surgery, but every person is different. That’s kind of strange that you developed lupus after the surgery! I’m really sorry to hear that. 💕
I developed Lupus after a gallbladder removal. I uave no idea if they are related.
