Hi Desiree ๐ I missed your message here. I hope you're doing well this day ๐ฅฐ
I want to share that in 2021 my lipid test results were all high. In 2022 they were even higher; way over the limits.
My husband who is into functional medicine had me change my diet: NO MORE fast foods, and ONLY packaged foods that don't contain ingredients with names that I can't pronounce.
I eliminated bad oils (canola, peanut, etc. ONLY using olive, coconut, avocado, etc; this is very important). ANY and ALL foods that I eat must contain ONLY good oils.
I cook ALL of my own foods now, so I know the ingredients. I started to exercise DAILY to move the blood and pump the heart; the body needs movement.
I changed all of these things and my lipids all went down to within range. Now it's a lifestyle that I must maintain. These changes are also keeping my lupus in remission ๐
So from my experience I know it's possible to get lipids in check, but it's not easy to change habits. It's a bit of work to learn to be vigilant about what foods I will allow into my system.
However, now that I've learned to check package labels, cook my own foods, and exercise daily, I can see the results of my efforts on tests results and with my physical body. I now embrace the reasons for these changes and I am motivated by the results of the changes I've made.
So it's possible friend... if I can, so can YOU! I hope this only serves to inspire today. ๐
Ps: There's a functional medicine practitioner on YouTube: Dr Berg. He will show you just what to do if you want to improve test results.
Thank you everyone for your replies. I eat a really healthy diet so very surprised to see itโs high. The Dr said it could just be high because of the lupus.
Yep, I do... the medical information I've read says prednisone can be a cause.
All meds have benefits and are also detrimental. However, thankfully with meds now, we are living longer lives with lupus.
I have cousins and friends with lupus who didn't make it without these new remedies.
