I asked about this to a panel of transplant doctors at a major university hospital very recently speaking on living donor transplants (liver particularly). I was a bit more vague with “autoimmune disease with normal kidney and liver function.” Their response was, “It depends. The safety of the donor is our priority.” I put in an application a couple months ago and so far have not been immediately disqualified, so, maybe?

A donor is a gift. At the time of death your gift will be determined how it can help. If organs or tissue can’t be used there is always science. I am also a Donor
