I dared one guy for 4 months until he noticed it and asked so I told him I have Lupus and he must have researched it because I called him to see if he was working & I was going to go surprise him. Before I got a word out on the phone, he said he's been thinking and he's not going to date anyone who's going to die on him! Then the last date I went on last year, he spotted it right away and in the restaurant very loudly said what does your bracelet say, I said I'll tell you outside and he screamed… read more

Wow! Such harsh reactions. It was suggested I wear one after my transplant but still haven't gotten around to it.

First of all I'm very sorry you were treated like this. No one deserves that. My opinion they were both jerks. Having lupus requires a partner that's understanding and supportive and you'll find someone worthy of your time. Don't sell yourself short..you're A strong beautiful woman and you deserve a strong man...not some jerk wad. Hope you are doing well and have a blessed evening πŸ’œπŸ™

LaStreett, you have had horrible luck with the men you have dated, and there are good, kind, and decent men out there who would be lucky to be with you. Most of us have a normal life expectancy, so their response is also ignorant.

You may want to consider EHarmony, which is how I met my caring husband. I have found it best to tell people early on--usually on the second date--about my disease to screen out those who are incapable of dealing with it.

Please don't allow the ignorance and cruelty of others to affect your self-esteem. We are NOT our disease, and we deserve loving relationships, as does everyone.

Glad you dodged those bullets Lastreett.😳
They sound under educated fools and you certainly don’t want that in your life.
I haven’t got a bracelet yet but I certainly would kick anyone to the curb if they treated me like that.
Hold your head high sweetheart. With present treatments and more research happening you will probably outlive them anyway.
If anyone ever says that to you again about dying just say
Yes we are all going to die even you- just not today.
