As @A MyLupusTeam Member said, draining your sinuses helps an awful lot. Staying hydrated with water, peppermint tea,or clear broth will help some. I have chronic sinusitis and rhinitis. One of the first things I do each day is use a nasal saline spray in each nostril. I also take medications for my sinus issues. If your problem persists, you might want to request a referral to an ENT. I see a pulmonologist because I have asthma but I do need to see an ENT myself. I hope that you are starting to feel better.

For sinus problems related to SLE, you might consider the following:

- Sinus Rinse: Some people find that rinsing with a special formula helps keep their sinuses clear and free of infection. These rinses can be purchased over the counter or may require a prescription.
- Herbal Teas: While specific herbal teas aren't mentioned, some members have found that drinking herbal tea helps with relaxation and sleep, which might indirectly benefit your sinus health.

Always consult your doctor before starting any new treatment.

@CyndyVetters--It's good to be aware that it's possible allergy shots can potentially aggravate lupus.

I had lots of sinus problems and infections. My doctor sent me to an allergist. Turns out I was allergic to almost everything Outdoors. Now I take shots and haven't had any sinus problems since.

I'm not sure about that, Tammy, but I've had a few patients who swore by using local honey to desensitize themselves with good success.
