Nett, turmeric is a potent anti-inflammatory that can relieve symptoms. Please ask your doctor if you can safely take it with your meds, as it shouldn't be taken with anything that thins the blood.

While you're looking for natural alternatives to manage lupus symptoms, it's crucial to discuss any supplements with your rheumatologist before starting them. Natural remedies can interact with lupus medications and potentially affect your treatment plan.

If you're considering trying supplements for inflammation and pain management, be aware that they may interact with multiple medications, including blood thinners, blood pressure medications, and immunosuppressants. This is especially important since you're currently taking pain medication. One MyLupusTeam member shared that they "really work closely with my rheumy because too much, or mixing remedies, can be more dangerous than helpful." This is excellent advice - always keep your healthcare providers informed about any supplements or natural remedies you're considering.

Remember to never stop taking prescribed medications for your lupus without consulting your rheumatologist first. They can help you explore safe options for managing your swelling, headaches, and other symptoms while ensuring any natural remedies won't interfere with your current treatment plan.
