Late 20s and the age of 52. I was in my late twenties when I was first diagnosed with lupus. I was tested during a hospital stay - I had epilepsy at the time and I happened to bring up my inflamed fingers while being treated for the seizures. I took Cellcept for about 3 years after my lupus diagnosis, but when I'd stopped taking Dilantin and Depakote for my seizures (they became ineffective), I noticed that I didn't have inflamed fingers anymore. My then rheumatologist determined that I had drug induced lupus. Fast forward to 2024, I moved out of state and before I could even find a PCP, my joints started hurting. But still, it was mild. I got tested during a gynecological exam where, once again, I casually brought up my joint pain. Thankfully, the doctors did an ANA titer test....while I just thought it was old age arthritis. It was lupus. I was 52. Unfortunately, I'm experiencing all the weird pain that and complications that lupus can bring on....kidney involvement, gi tract and maybe liver, my lungs.... I want to know if the onset of menopause caused lupus to reappear.
Diagnosed at 49 but I believe I have had it since my early 20's... no one took my symptoms etc seriously.
I was diagnosed, finally, at 75. I’m 79 now. But the symptoms had been there long before then. Just kept being treated for HBP and pain.
I was 54 years old when I was diagnosed with lupus
59 yrs old, but SS wouldn't give me my disability until 2010.
