Yes, many people with lupus experience random burning sensations and nerve pain in different areas of their body. A common cause is peripheral neuropathy, which occurs when lupus triggers inflammation that damages the nervous system. This can cause your nerves to send random signals that feel like burning or stinging sensations on your skin, even when there's no visible external cause.

Many MyLupusTeam members report similar experiences - feeling sudden burning sensations that can occur on various body parts like arms, legs, stomach, and thighs. These sensations often come "out of the blue" and can feel very uncomfortable. If you're experiencing these burning sensations, it's important to discuss them with your healthcare provider. They can help identify if your current lupus treatment needs adjustment, as these symptoms sometimes indicate that your condition may need better management or that you could be approaching a flare. They can work with you to find the right treatment approach to help control these nerve-related symptoms.

Yes indeed I do. Obviously it is worse the more inflammation I have. Ya can talk to ur dr about trying something like lyrica or gabapentin. I have tried both but asked my de to go off of it as I was gaining a lot of weight and though the med could be the reason. Luckily I have not had a whole lot of recurrance but I also have not lost weight.
My mom did tell me about Nervive, it is otc and comes in a roll on. Can buy it at Walmart or Amazon, I am going to pick some up to try.

@A MyLupusTeam Member I absolutely do. Bottoms of feet, toes, top of feet, random locations on my calves or thighs, hips, and abdomen. Totally out of the blue and they can last from a few seconds to being intermittent in one spot for a few days. They definitely grab my attention when they happen as it hurts like crazy. I have lidocaine patches that I use for the intermittent ones. I also use lidocaine cream , and it seems to take the edge off.
