The skin on my lips and around has always struggled. During the summer, it gets incredibly dry, it's painful, and it gets chapped. It bleeds, etc. I don't know how to protect it. I use vaseline at home and/or aquafor, and I cover my face whenever I leave the house during peak sun.

If you’ve always struggled even though you protect your lips, you should visit a dermatologist. They are best to tell you what’s going on with your skin, especially the delicate skin on your lips.

In the meantime, be sure to stay hydrated and try not to lick your lips. You just licked them didn’t you? 🤭 A few drops of a gentle 100% essential oil, such as lavender and/or chamomile, added to your vaseline before you apply it to your lips may help.

Do your research on 100% essential oils and their benefits. Even though they are considered “natural” they still can have side effects or allergic reactions just like anything else. But I’ve never experienced any with the two gentle ones that I’ve mentioned.

I hope this helps and you find relief sooner rather than later. 🫶

My lips get super dry and there are two items I find helpful - weird as it sounds, Lanolin ointment is just the best for healing dry cracked skin and lips - and then Cay Skin Deepwater Nourishing Lip Mask!

Thank you all!! <3 @MyLupusTeam users... I did go to the dermatologist a couple of years ago, at my worst, and they prescribed some topical creams that helped then, but nothing helps long-term if that makes sense ;(
