I know what you eat helps with the pain of inflammation. I just don't know what the best route to go.

Following an anti-inflammatory diet can help manage lupus symptoms. Here are some of the best foods to include:

• Fatty fish (wild salmon, trout, mackerel, sardines)
• Green leafy vegetables (spinach, kale, broccoli)
• Colorful fruits, especially berries
• Nuts and seeds (particularly chia seeds, flaxseeds, walnuts)

Following an anti-inflammatory diet can help manage lupus symptoms. Here are some of the best foods to include:

• Fatty fish (wild salmon, trout, mackerel, sardines)
• Green leafy vegetables (spinach, kale, broccoli)
• Colorful fruits, especially berries
• Nuts and seeds (particularly chia seeds, flaxseeds, walnuts)
• Healthy fats like olive oil and avocado
• Fresh herbs
• Turmeric (which contains curcumin, a natural anti-inflammatory compound) Foods rich in specific nutrients can help fight inflammation:

• Vitamin A: Found in sweet potatoes, carrots, pumpkin
• Vitamin C: Red peppers, citrus fruits, broccoli
• Selenium: Nuts and eggs

Remember to stay well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water, as this helps with joint function - a common concern with lupus. Important: Avoid alfalfa sprouts and garlic, as these may trigger lupus flares. Always consult with your healthcare provider before making significant dietary changes or starting any supplements.

I agree with the AI answer, except that some experts believe eliminating ALL animal foods helps, and I eat a plant-based diet. A UK study done a few years ago has proven that eliminating dairy and increasing plant intake helps us feel better, Lisa.

And berries--especially blueberries-- and leafy greens are especially important, FYI.
