Yes, chest pressure, shortness of breath, and difficulty breathing can be symptoms of lupus-related lung conditions. About half of all people with lupus develop lung-related problems. The most common conditions include:

• Pleurisy (pleuritis) - inflammation of lung tissue causing sharp chest pain
• Pleural effusion - fluid buildup around lungs
• Pneumonitis - swelling of lung tissue These symptoms should be taken seriously and reported to your doctor immediately. While they may be lupus-related, they could indicate a serious complication requiring urgent treatment. Your doctor may refer you to a pulmonologist (lung specialist) for specialized testing and treatment.

If you experience severe chest pain or sudden shortness of breath, seek emergency medical care right away as these could indicate serious complications requiring immediate attention.

Ekaterina, if these symptoms are severe, please go to the emergency room. Even if it's mild, you must see your doctors right away! These symptoms can occur with lupus, and many cardiac or pulmonary problems can cause them. A full evaluation is needed.

I was wondering if you had any imaging done since you were diagnosed. My doctor had me get imaging done of my lungs & kidneys. I was feeling short of breath often. I was lucky to learn that so far I have no organ involvement for now. I still feel short of breath at times. All I can do is stop what I'm doing & rest.
I hope you've talked to your doctors about your sensation of chest pressure.💜

I was yawning a lot, heart palpitations and slight pain. Not to scare you, actually I was headed to the doctor and they took me in the squad. I am now on full oxygen. It’s been a few months and now better. Get a pulse ox, and check above 92 is good per my doctor. Please get checked
