Yes, it can cause health anxiety, stress, and depression. I try to stay informed just enough to share with my doctors and everyone here on MLT. Being aware of new treatments, learning techniques to treat pain naturally, and knowing my own body are what are most important to me. We can share and be empathetic, but when reading someone else's story, always remember that none of us experience lupus and our other health issues the same way. We are not only here to share our journeys but also to uplift one another with understanding and support.

Yes, information overload about lupus can definitely increase stress and anxiety levels. This is a common experience, and it's important to recognize when researching symptoms or reading others' stories becomes overwhelming rather than helpful.

Remember that stress itself can be a trigger for lupus flares, so it's crucial to find a balance in how much information you consume about the condition. Here are some helpful ways to manage information-related stress:

• Set boundaries on how much time you spend reading about lupus
• Focus on positive management strategies rather than worst-case scenarios
• Take breaks from reading about lupus when feeling overwhelmed
• Consider talking to your healthcare provider about specific concerns instead of researching extensively online
• Practice stress-reduction techniques like meditation or relaxation exercises when feeling anxious about health information

Remember, everyone's journey with lupus is different, and what happens to one person may not happen to another.

Yes it definitely can cause a lot of anxiety, but I try to flip my thoughts. Instead of stressing over what may happen I tell myself to be grateful. Things could be so much worse! Be grateful for the small victories. They all add up💜

I definitely feel my health anxiety started with lupus diagnosis. That’s been over 27 years. My tolerance for managing stress around health issues is gone. Honestly I need to never look up anything. It does me more harm than good.

Yes, I agree. My problem is that I share deep empathy with those suffering. So I have to balance my intake or it will be more challenging to keep upbeat. My love to all.💖
