Hey Faisal, it took 5 years after I was diagnosed to get disability...I was in so much pain and going thru so much and they kept denying me. I could barely get out of bed. I don't know why it's so hard even though you have Drs and all medical records stating you can not function and the extreme pain you go thru daily. Good luck hopefully it won't take as long.
@A MyLupusTeam Member I feel ya. 6 for me, mostly because of scheduling hearings. 3 hearing, they would review, have questions, attorney would answer and my attorney would refile for a hearing. If any one is applying remember It's a process. Make sure you tell the attorney everything you have done to enable yourself to continue to work. (I had gone back to school to retrain). Things like how hard it is to keep on task, like if you are constantly in the bathroom, in a fog, so exhausted you can't think. Anything that keeps you from doing a good job. That's where the focus is.
Ask around for a good lawyer
I was denied, appealed then approved. Had to retire on medical disability due to lupus.
Is that the only way...
