Here's a study addressing the question. It may be helpful, but a large dose is required. It's worth discussing with your doctor if you're interested in pursuing it.

Of course, we should discuss any supplements with our doctors. Turmeric interacts with blood thinners, increasing bleeding risk.

@CrystalH2--Ashwaghanda is reported to rarely cause liver injury and even liver failure in some people, and it's not recommended to use it for more than three months due to questionable safety. It may stimulate the immune system and worsen autoimmune disease, so it could be risky for us.

@JohnDobson--Sure! Yes, you can talk to your PCP about this. As I'm sure you know, we can get lots of antioxidants in our diet by eating plenty of fruits and veggies, especially blueberries/other berries and dark green leafy veggies. Turmeric and omega-3 fatty acids are also great antioxidants worth considering, and they're easier to take than NAC.

I read ashwaghanda is not good to take as well as echinacea. Do you have any literature to support those claims? Echinacea makes sense but I want more info on ashwaghanda.
