I have gone anywhere from 12 to 72 hours without eating, and it's not intentional. I genuinely don't feel hungry and food doesn't look or sound appealing to me anymore. Has anyone experienced this?

Members shared practical strategies for managing loss of appetite and lack of hunger, with the most common advice being to prioritize hydration through water, tea, and electrolyte tablets to prevent dehydration. Several members recommended protein shakes like Atkins Strong and Premier Protein, or meal replacement drinks like Ensure, Boost, and Carnation Instant Breakfast as ways to get essential nutrients when solid food doesn't appeal. A recurring theme was finding small, manageable ways to nourish the body, whether through simple foods like almonds or bread with olive oil, while acknowledging that staying hydrated is the most critical priority when appetite is diminished.

Takeisha, I hope you stay hydrated. You may want to consider drink supplements like Ensure or Boost as meal substitutes. Carnation Instant Breakfast also provides nutrients, though none is as good as eating healthy foods.

Hi TaKeisha, I have noticed that my appetite has decreased which for me is a good thing because I’m a few pounds overweight.

Adkins makes some nice protein shakes (Adkins Strong) with plenty of protein in them, & so does Premier Protein. I order both off Amazon. It helps with getting nutrients when I'm just not hungry. I also got some Nuun electrolyte tablets to add to what I am drinking. I definitely keep hydrated. I typically eat one meal a day and drink a protein drink for breakfast. I get not feeling hungry.

I'll usually spray a piece of bread with olive oil and heat for a few seconds just so I can take my drugs. Oh and drink a lot of water-dehydration scares me
