Members shared a wide range of tips for managing constipation, a common struggle for those with overlapping conditions like Scleroderma, Sjogren's, epilepsy, and CREST. Several members found relief through dietary changes like adding blueberries, chia seeds, celery, prunes, kiwis, and extra fiber, while others relied on supplements like magnesium oxide, probiotics, prebiotics, and digestive enzymes. A recurring theme was finding what works best for your own body, whether that meant adjusting food choices, trying Miralax, or using suppositories.

I have been taking probiotics and prebiotics (which is fibers that feed the good bacteria in your gut) several times a day. And, I take digestive enzymes to help my sluggish digestion. Some products put them all in one in capsule form.

I use magnesium oxide if I go one day without having a bowel movement. It usually works the next morning and if I don’t go that day I take one dose miralax. Then continue the magnesium oxide until I get started back. This has worked well for me the last year or so.

I try to eat fiber when I can and use Miralax if I need to. To answer the question about chia seeds, I add them to my oatmeal while cooking it and they plump right up. Otherwise, I soak them overnight in coconut milk.

Kiwis actually help with constipation as do prunes.

Good ol’ Prunes, 3 a day and after a couple days and going forward, it works.
