It has a very chemical smell, but my husband and I both swear it's familiar - we just can't place it. Does anyone else think it smells like something?

I'm glad to hear that the liver enzymes have improved, and dialysis is usually only necessary when the eGFR is 15 or lower. Hopefully, he remains stable for a long time or, better yet, improves!

@A MyLupusTeam Member He is & side effects are minimal. He's 2 months into induction therapy, all his labs have either improved or are in range. His AST went from 102 to 37. It's his EGFR that won't budge at 45, but if he can stave off dialysis it will be a Godsend. He's lupus nephritis stage 5

I hope he's responding well to treatment, Redz. I haven't smelled the voclosporin myself.

That said, many medications do have a distinct chemical or sulfur-like smell, and that doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong with them.

If the smell seems unusually strong or different from previous refills, it's worth checking with the dispensing pharmacy to make sure the medication was stored and handled correctly.
