Now. I can't take pain pills because they make me horribly sick. I've had these earaches since I was a child the sun is always been my worst enemy. I can't afford to see any more specialists I just don't have the funds anymore. If there's any suggestions you can give me I would really appreciate it

Have you tried using heat to relieve your ear pain? I've found that even when it doesn't stop the pain, it can make it bearable. I'm sorry you are having such pain. I hope you find relief soon.

Dealing with earaches for 3 days straight sounds really exhausting, especially when pain pills aren't an option. Since sun sensitivity has always been a trigger, it's worth knowing that lupus can sometimes cause itchy or painful ears through skin involvement, particularly a type of rash that can affect the face and surrounding areas.

Here are some gentle at-home things that may help ease discomfort:

- Warm compress – Hold a warm (not hot) cloth against the ear to help soothe pain
- Keep the area dry – Moisture can worsen irritation
- Avoid sun exposure – Especially between 10am–4pm when UV rays are strongest
- Wear a wide-brimmed hat outdoors – This shields ears from UV light
- Use fragrance-free products – Soaps and shampoos near the ears can trigger irritation It's really important to mention that earaches lasting 3 days should be checked out. Many areas have community health clinics that offer low-cost or sliding-scale fee appointments — they may be a more affordable option than a specialist.

Please don't ignore worsening pain, as masking symptoms at home without knowing the cause can sometimes delay needed treatment.
