This is such a tough thing to experience. Sometimes we just have to go through it to get through it. I found that spending time in nature walking and breathing fresh air is great. Spending time with a good friend, journaling all help. My biggest suggestion is to cry, let it out, let it out, let it out. Keeping pain in is a bad thing for us. Think about what you have learned from the relationship and maybe what you taught them. I am a firm believer in the everyone comes into your life for a reason and leaves for the same. Like Jasmine said find that person that KNOWS you, a friend, mom , dad sibling and spill your guts and move on. Life lessons are hard but you will survive and be better for it.

Just been through that myself. I fought the depression for Months. Find that one person in your life that KNOWS YOU.

I’m going through it now. I don’t what say about it. I spend a lot of time by myself.

@A MyLupusTeam Member, I understand that all too well. Hang in there because you are not alone. We have all been there. I was in so much pain over the weekend and my husband said he didn't notice because I don't complain. That really got to me because he gets me better than anyone. I got your back and so does everyone else here. πŸ’œ

Going through a relationship ending while managing lupus is genuinely hard, and you are absolutely not alone in this. Many MyLupusTeam members have shared similar experiences β€” some have even had partners leave because they couldn't handle the realities of lupus. It stings, but it has also led many members to find stronger, more supportive relationships.

One MyLupusTeam member shared this powerful perspective: "Support is one of the top ingredients needed to survive, maintain, and LIVE with this disease." A true partner makes an effort to understand your needs β€” and if they don't, that says more about them than it does about you. As for managing stress β€” this is so important because stress can trigger lupus flares and make symptoms worse. Here are some approaches that MyLupusTeam members have found helpful:

- Leaning on support networks β€” friends, family, or online communities
- Therapy or counseling to process emotions
- Meditation or prayer for calming the mind
- Finding a hobby to occupy your thoughts and give you joy
- Acupuncture as a complementary option
- Anxiety medication (speak with your doctor about this)

One MyLupusTeam member found that taking up woodworking became a lifesaver β€” something to focus on beyond the illness itself.

Be gentle with yourself right now. Rest when your body asks for it, and know that better days are ahead. πŸ’™
