Members rallied around Teresa after she experienced a severe reaction to receiving three vaccines at once, offering both emotional support and practical guidance like staying hydrated, resting, and contacting her PCP or rheumatologist. Several members noted that having lupus and a compromised immune system may have made the reaction worse, and shared that spacing out vaccines in the future could help avoid a similar experience. A recurring theme was encouragement to keep advocating for herself with her medical team, especially given her high-risk health conditions.

Here is a summary of the latest guidelines from the American College of Rheumatology (the national group of rheumatologists) regarding immunizations. In general, they are recommended for us, as our immunity is diminished with lupus, especially for those of us on meds other than HCQ.

We should follow our doctors' recommendations, too, of course.

Just rest and sleep when you need to. It will eventually pass. If anything else changes go to your doctor.

Also, if your doctor can't see you today, I agree with @A MyLupusTeam Member that it's a good idea to go to the ER, Teresa. Keep us posted!

@A MyLupusTeam Member thank you very much for your advice i think i will call my PCP Dr. today since the Dr. i saw yesterday didn't, say munch , my arm still hurts this morning & still hot, my left arm that received the 2 vaccines in is doing fine, i don't think i will allow all of them at once any more , i cant stand this feeling of being light headed, , i don't understand why the arm that only received the one is the one thats the worst & causing all the problems
I appreciated your help i’ll definitely have my PCP look at it.
