What a great question — and 20+ years managing SLE mostly with Advil and the occasional prednisone flare is genuinely impressive. Your skin deserves some good care!

For unscented body oils, here are some well-tolerated options that dermatologists often recommend for lupus-sensitive skin:

- Jojoba oil — lightweight, absorbs well, and very close to the skin's natural oils
- Mineral oil — simple, fragrance-free, and widely available
- Emu oil (100% pure) — a MyLupusTeam member actually swears by this post-shower, noting just one or two drops covers the whole body
- Shea butter oil — deeply moisturizing and gentle A helpful tip — apply your chosen oil while skin is still slightly damp after patting (not rubbing) dry. This helps lock in moisture much more effectively.

Always patch test any new product on a small area for 7–10 days before using it all over, just to make sure there's no reaction. And it's worth running any new product by your doctor, especially since some oils can interact with skin that's been on prednisone.
