Can someone tell me what your symptoms are when you are in a flare up? I don't know my body anymore. Are there any special steps you take when having one. Thanks in advance.
My muscles start hurting and have trouble moving around some. Almost like having the flu but it doesn't go away that fast.
The muscle and joint pain spikes. Like incredibly so. Then there is sensitivity to my hearing, and I get eyeball headaches. When it's bad enough I start a prednisone cycle. after 2 or 3 days it starts to ease up. If its reallllllly band it will take a week or so and a higher dose of prednisone..... Hope this helped.
@A MyLupusTeam Member ,All those symptoms sound totally familiar! Except the bottoms of my feet didn't hurt it was the tops. It sounds like you could be having a flare up. The whole hip thing is the worst for me, with the no sleep, and the like fiery hot burny pain in the hip sockets. Uhhhg sucks. I never get the flu shot, and I usually never get sick. But if I'm coming off of a med that I tried and I'm dealing with all the side effects that that causes, I am more susceptible to getting colds. This doesn't really help you but I hope it gives you comfort to know there are people who know exactly what your going through. :)
I have a ? My lupus is in remission, My doc put me on plaqueneil (forgot name)? to try to keep it that way I don't think I have experienced a flare up yet, I have a friend that has lupus, she shared pics of herself during a flare up. What I am experiencing is very painful aching in my hips, it keeps me up at night, I toss from side to side because it hurts...during the day my hips ache too, and I am trying to exercise a bit by walking, and that just makes my hips ache more...now I find the bottom of my feet are hurting more and more...my hands feel swollen a lot, like it's difficult to make a fist...weird...oh yea, and I am always cold, especially my nose, toes and fingers...they are like icycles!! Everyone else in the room can be fine and warm, I will be sitting there with a blanket on, and my toes and fingers will be cold, cold...is that have anything to do with lupus? And I noticed that my stomach has been hurting all the time it seems, either jabbing pains or achy pains...or like indigestion after I eat...just blah...my rheumy have me the flu shot my last appt, but I still seem to get every bug that goes around, just not as severe as before...
@A MyLupusTeam Member, If I know its what its going to take yes, but I will call my ruemy and let her know. Finding a great doc is huge. I also have oxycodone but I rarely rarely touch that because its just a band aid. it will not get you through and past a flare up. Communication is important with your rheumy...
