Chronic low WBC counts (neutropenia) can be a direct symptom of the meds, specifically anti-inflammatories. I ended up in hospital in 2005 after taking a course of Brufen for joints. After almost ten years, my WBC count reached normal levels two years ago and is still in the normal range! Even on methotrexate and Sandimmun, my WBC count stayed normal. But I still avoid anti-inflammatories. Ask your doctor, since there are some meds that are safer to use with neutropenia.
