Does anyone have high blood pressure with their lupus? If so, do you notice that when you flare your blood pressure rises or is out of control during that time?
That's how I was originally diagnosed. They couldn't get my blood pressure under control and my legs swelled up and looked like they were scalded. It's normal for SLE
I'm trying to tapper off of prednisone. Every time I get close to getting off something happens and I have to go back up again. Hoping once I start benlysta I'll be able to get off of it altogether. I've never had so many issues til I was put on prednisone. I feel like it's keeping me in the flare.
@A MyLupusTeam Member prednisone did that to me. My bp would spike really high my sister in law that is a nurse would freak out and we would run to the ER and then it would go down a bit still high but not scary high up and down all day. Once I stopped taking it that stopped I will not let them put me on it again that's the first thing I say when they even hint giving it to me.
I didn't have hi BP until lupus showed it's ugly head :( during a flair it always goes up last year I took myself to the er cause I could tell it was hi by the ringing in my ears and the headache I thought I was having a stroke ( 248/162 ) while I was in the hospital I learned to stand up for myself and fired the hospitalist for ordering too many tests that were not needed and only cost me thousands of dollars and still hadn't addressed what I went in for
