Has anyone done bariatric surgery?
Ah hell. That's what I've been looking at getting done. They say it has a good chance of me no longer having diabetes once it has been done and that losing lots of weight will help with my constant back pain. I'm in remission right now and I dread the idea that it could bring the lupus back. The vast majority who I've met who have had it say it's brilliant, only one is not happy because 5 years later she still throws up a lot and says it causes a lot of social issues and she loves food and now feels deprived. But none of those people began with already having so many health issues, as I do. I just don't know what to do!
@A MyLupusTeam Member, did you end up going through with the sleeve?
Thank you GiGiDougherty & MyLupieLife for your information. Greatly appreciate it! 😉 Much love & God Bless!
@ SandraKaniho I had RNY in 2008. It has caused more health issues for me. My flares have intensified. I believe it has to do with my nutritional needs. I take a lot of supplements and eat healthy but my stomach is still very small. Whatever you decide to do, at least you are beginning with knowledge! That's more than I had. My doctor said it would "fix" my problems. There's no "fix" aka cure for LUPUS. We are given our Illness and must figure out a way to make the best of it! We have LUPUS......LUPUS doesn't have us❤️ Love and hugs ❤️
