This happens all the time! I have been at Mayo in Minn for a week looking for help with both SLE and CLE. My rheumy here says the sweats go with it... Medicine plays a big part and there really is no true solution. I get so wet with sweat that my sheets are soaked... And sweats all during the day at any given time. I freeze immediately after so I keep extra jackets around.

I do sweat profusely. but I think in my case it is because of Opiates I take for pain. I cannot tolerate temperatures of either extreme.

Yes! I am 65 -- had a hysterectomy by 27 and hormone replacement for many years. As far as the sweats and chills go, I have no chance of them being better. With breast cancer mastectomy and lymph node removal and lupus, I think I get double the sweats. I just dress as little as possible and do it in layers I can get out of! Too funny!
