I have been diagnosed over 20 yrs with SLE/ Rhumetoid Arthritis overlap. I have lost almost all of my teeth. Don't know if it's because of meds or illness. Any insight?

Yeah I've lost a bunch. Lots of money on cosmetic dentistry to keep me looking normal. root canals for many tend to fail in several years.

I had a back tooth break off once when I bit into a soft boiled egg.

Another common culprit in Sjorgens disease, a common sidekick autoimmune condition. Not enough saliva and tear production. In have it. I use systene for the eyes and biotene for the saliva but it goes only so far.

If you have the above symptoms then it is not just the medication.

Wow...now I know why my teeth break! When I do go to a dentist it takes my mouth a long time to recover.

Even when we go yo our dental app there's not much they can do just to try and keep the teeth you have left for as long as they can, they said I cannot have implants because the bone isn't strong enough and a brace cost about £800 pounds even then when my teeth were straight they would just go back to the way they were so total waste of money money that I didn't have in the 1st place but hay ho I cannot dwell on things I cannot change so chin up again x
