Sigh I say this with a serious heavy heart; I have been a smoker since I was a teen, diagnosed with lupus at 27 and I am now 34 will be 35 this year.
I can not seem to find a good method of quitting smoking! I am doing everything else for my body to stay as healthy as I can and decrease my flares except quitting smoking.
Any thoughts, suggestions, positive feedback please :) thank you!
Much love xo

Don't worry about it. The right time will come for you to quit. You will know when it is time. I have been there and did not want to quit either... but you will quit in perfect time. You only put more stress on yourself if you keep on worrying about it. Relax and listen to your inner voice. Lots of warm South African hugs

I did it with nicorette gum. I chewed it all day long. It's so hard but you know we've got to do it . They always say to consider quitting casually. Like, don't psych yourself out about it. Wake up in the morning and pop in the gum and leave your cigarettes on the table or whereever and say, nope, don't need you right now. Get the highest dose of nicorette gum. You can get it cheaper at Costco and i think they have a Kirkland brand that's just fine. Make sure you chew the gum properly, according to directions, or it won't work.

The gum package comes with a schedule for weaning down but do it the way it suits you. Yes, chewing nicotine is still not good for you but it's better than smoking.

This is what helped me. About e-cigs. The problem is nicotine. If you have any problems with your bones, i.e. osteoporosis osteopenia etc, nicotine can inhibit bone growth.

Have you tried the patch? That worked for me. I wouldn't suggest vaping, it comes with a different set of problems in itself. It is also helpful to keep gum and low cal snacks around. Maybe try a new hobby to keep your hands busy.

I'm right with you, sister, I have been down to a few a day for a long time, but still nagged by doctors, been trying to stop but hard with a fellow smoker going out all the time to smoke.... I tried chantix but stopped because it gave me headaches and nightmares. Patch doesn't work for me, I wish you the best, let me know any secrets you come up with! And , I think the e cigs help some, too... Everyone is different with their own deserved opinions :) hugs! xo
