yes it's a common side effect. I wear sunglasses when ever the suns out.

For me i can't say it the medication..before the meds i had sensitivity to light and headaches it sounds to me like your having migraine symptoms. I have chronic migraines so those are part of the symptoms. Make sure you let your doctor know. If you can't get to a doctor try excerdrine for migraines they work well alpng with lavender oil.

I have only been on Plaquinel for just about 1 month now. I believe the light sensitivity is from a little bit of both. I had that problem before starting the Plaquinel. I do know that it is very important to have your eyes checked, so that I will definitely follow up with every couple of months. My Doctor did say every 2 years, but from what I have been reading, I think its important to do it frequently. As for other side effects, I feel a little out of it, but nothing to bad.
