Members shared helpful tips for sun protection in the summer, with a standout recommendation being RIT SunGuard UV protection laundry additive as a budget-friendly alternative to expensive UV clothing. Several members also suggested wearing wide-brim hats, loose long-sleeved tops, UV-blocking umbrellas, solar shield sunglasses, and applying broad-spectrum sunscreen daily both indoors and outdoors. A recurring theme was finding affordable ways to stay protected, with brands like Land's End and Columbia mentioned for reasonably priced sun-protective clothing.

Invest in a good broad spectrum sun block (I use neutropenia 100 with helioplex). I also bought a uv blocking sun umbrella and some cute sun hats. I too bought the UV protection clothes wash it's called Sun Guard.( I got it online). Sun protection clothing is pretty pricey but if you hunt around you can find a few cute pieces. (Land send and Columbia have some more reasonable rash guards and uv clothes). I also found a lawn chair with an attached umbrella. I avoid direct sun as much as possible. An d I bought solar shield sun glasses, you can wear them alone or over prescription glasses).

The uv clothes are really expensive. The RIT stuff is 6.99 a pack and I can wash a full load of clothes with it. Supposed to last through 20 washes.

It's available on Amazon.

I have used RIT dyes to color fading clothes or just to make a white blouse another color. That, you can buy in the grocery store. The UV stuff is the same as that only it leaves UV protection in the fabric. I've only seen it online so that's where I buy it.

I put everything I want to have extra protection on into the washer with one packet. It's supposed to last 20 washes. It says on the box you could add it to every wash and it wouldn't harm your clothes. That would get pretty expensive though.

As for sensitive skin. It depends on how sensitive. I have sensitive skin, but my grand daughter gets irritated skin from pretty much anything.

I have a huge selection of hats, pretty scarves, loose long sleeved tops and long skirts. Sunscreen on exposed skin and under my clothes which have been laundered in RIT SunguardUV protection. That's if I have to spend an extended time in the sun. Otherwise, sunscreen every day, indoors and out.

Never heard of rit. That's good to know! You can also buy uv protective clothing. I have a light jacket made to be worn in hot weather so it doesn't get too hot
