Almost 23 urs ago I gave birth to my oldest child. During this time pretty late into my pregnancy I started having having this intense Calve pain that would wake me from my sleep. I would jump out of bed, only to find a golf ball size lump in my calve and my toes stuck in and odd and very painful position. The only way to get rid of this muscle pain was to stand on the ball of my foot and rock back and forth while fiercely rubbing out the knot. So that was to me just at that time another… read more

Potassium does help! I can't eat bananas so I did research & found out that apricots have tons more potassium! I usually snack on dried apricots-just two or three-a day. It has really helped with the cramping!

Yes, I do think that the cramping has a lot to do with the nerve dammage. My right leg, which is fine, never does it.

I would get your potassium checked because you need it to be normal for your heart to function properly. Do you take blood pressure meds with a diuretic? These meds can deplete potassium also. Good luck!!

All these blessed Drs seem to be cut from the same cloth, they have no idea what this disease does to us and the pain we suffer. I don't know about anyone else but I just don't tell them about pains anymore unless I have had it constantly for two months. I'm on OxyContin, Celebrex, panadol osteo, and anti-depressants that are supposed to help with pain, so when I feel pain, it is real and very painful and yet I still wait until I have had it consistently for a couple of months before I tell them, my GP is good and starts tests straight away because he has seem that every time I point out something is wrong, tests prove something IS WRONG. I wonder how many millions of us have this same reaction from specialist Drs who are supposed to be there to help us. They all need to livei N our shoes for a month, in the midst of a flare to just get a taste of what we go through daily. Sorry, just needed that little vent as I have two pains that have been hanging around for a few months now, so I know something is wrong, but will wait to I go to my GP again and then we can start the process of testing to see what they are. God bless all. Dxxx

I ran into trouble drinking too much water, specifically not getting/retaining enough minerals. You need Electrolytes!! Potassium is one, magnesium is super important too, but you need a regular, well rounded electrolyte infusion!!
