My doctor said there are no specific foods I should or shouldn't be eating, just to be "healthy". I was wondering if you guys tried any diets that gave you more energy or stopped the flares. My goal is to eventually stop taking so much pills and just rely on good eating and herbal stuff... any advice or suggestions will help me!!!

Hi ! Yes i agree with Matina it depends on each individual. I avoided food that were acidic, fried and sugary.Keeping away from icecream, crisp (chips) chocolates, sweets, fizzy drinks and bought juices really helped me over the years. Nutritional supplements really helped me with the disability i had at that time.πŸ’ŸπŸ’ŸπŸ’Ÿ

Hey there!
I guess it depends on what symptoms each one has cause of lupus. For example I eat pomegranate for the anemia and I drink turmeric and ginger tea cause they are considered to help with inflammations. In general try to have a balanced diet.

Gluten free, no extra sugar or processed foods. Try to stay away from red meat. It really is just treat all your food as fuel for your body. Just think would would make your body run cleaner an better "A greasy cheeseburger or grilled chicken an vegetables?" Also don't stress over it if you are having a really bad day an your body is craving something have a small amount of it dont push your body to eat a certain way.

I bought the book called Eat to Live by dr. Fuhrman. I follow this diet and I feel much better. My lupus last time was in remission. I highly recommend it. I also increased my vitamin D3. Read up on that.
