Ok, so I had a surgery Feb 5th 2016, to remove my appendix. It was supposed to be lapro but they made incision for camera, I started to bleed like crazy and they had to open me up (3 inch incision) to stop bleeding - 45 min surgery turned into 2 hours. Took forever to recover from. And over a year later, I am still having pain in stomach near my incision. I have complained to dr about it. He has said it was a nerve that healed wrong, GERD, and tons of other things. Finally did an Ultrasound to… read more
I just had my gallbladder out 2 weeks ago and Im healing pretty well. If you have any questions about it ill be more than happy to answer them.
Hi Britney, thanks for keeping us updated. What a fascinoma you are! Mind you sediment can cause problems too. I hope you are seeing a Gastroenterologist who is interpreting your tests. I am sorry you have this so far undiagnosed pain - lupus can disguise and mimick pain but sometimes we tend to just say - oh well it's just my lupus when in fact it isn't, so as tedious and stressful as it is I would advise you to keep going until you have an answer. Yep we also have that radioactive tracer for the gall bladder here but I forgot it's official name. Please keep giving us an update - we do care - and you take care!
Wow, your story sounds so much like mine. I had abdo pain/nausea etc. Over almost twelve months they did ultrasounds that were always reported as "normal, apart from an enlarged liver". The techs always complained that it was hard to image my gall bladder though. Because I was heading off on an around the world trip my insurance wouldn't cover my gall bladder so it was decided to do a laparoscopy to see what was going on. My surgeon found that when he touched my gall bladder it just disintergrated, was full of stones/gravel etc. It was also adhered to my liver and the omentum had grown and covered and adhered to the whole area. I was so lucky because they felt that with the cabin pressure my gall bladder would have "exploded" somewhere over the Pacific Ocean and I would have been in deep trouble. I would keep investigating because sometimes things are not always clear. I'm not sure what a HIDA scan is (perhaps we call it something else here in Australia). Recovery was easy and I did not have all the after effects they mention could happen. I went on my trip a few weeks later without any problems. I wish you luck and would appreciate it if you could let us know how you go. Take care.
Aww don't worry that dam gall bladder more trouble then it's worth🌺🌺 in prays just take it easy ☘️☘️
Update - No stones found on Ultrasound again. Liver still enlarged. Hard to see my gallbladder in Ultrasound, but she found sediment inside my gallbladder (no stones). Had the HIDA scan (Imaging that can see how things flow thru the Gallbladder etc. They put a radioactive tracer in and see how long it takes to empty) according to tech who did scan radiology will define my gallbladder as normal. So still no answer. Still in pain. Ugh wish we could figure this out.
