Has anyone here every tried the AIP diet? Thoughts? recommendations? https://aiplifestyle.com/what-is-autoimmune-pro...
Careful with gluten free diets, stay away from the packaged "gluten free" products, they are often full of empty carbs and very little nutrition. I am trying to limit my wheat intake by staying away from white flour as much as possible and trying to include whole grains instead. I am trying to get myself to eat more fruits and vegetables and less junk food( I do love my sweets and chips ) I think it is helping a bit. Time will tell. I trying to learn to control the disease not let the disease control me which means I need to find a diet I can enjoy that is healthy. Gluten free is too hard for me, I tried it for my IBS and it actually made it worse. I think it was all the soy I introduced into my diet as I was also removing dairy from my diet at that time as well.
I have not been strict AIP but I have done basic Paleo and it does help my symptoms. I try to eat basic Paleo style because that helps me feel better but lately I have been bad and have had gluten free grains. I need to get back on track.
R U still having IBS? How did you get rid of it? What's meds did you take?
I have been on the AIP diet for 4 months now and (other than my current flare) I feel amazing! Cutting out sugar, diary, gluten and soy has helped tremendously. I highly recommend that you do some research 😊
