Yes they can be very irritating but warm water helps but only time cures . I've been given some meds to swash and swallow . It helped a little

Hugs to you Tracy. I know what it is to have the canker sores in the mouth. And I have to say after of 40 years of dealing with it, I'm tired of it. Don't know what to do to stop them from coming though. So, I will try to concentrate on the good things in my life. How your day gets better. Stay away from spicy food and citrus foods.

well they used to annoy me so much it felt weird because they were not inside my mouth there were on the corners of my mouth so it made it difficult for me to eat because hot food would kinda annoy it so much I would brush my teeth, clean the sores with a wash cloth don't use hot hot water use lukewarm water don't add anything like soap for example since it will irritate the canker sore and just make it worse. Oh and I gargled with salt water make sure the water is lukewarm, that works wonders too when it comes to canker sores they went away I would say in about a week or two (depends on how bad it is) they will go away on their on but salt water actually helps a lot @A MyLupusTeam Member

yes lupus can cause sores to form in the mouth and head it's why my nephrologist almost always checks my scalp, the bottom of my feet, my back, and my mouth to make sure I don't have any sores in my mouth or head or any other parts of my body.

Hmmm...I had canker sores monthly for over 30 years. Then off an on for another 10 years or so and a couple years ago diagnosed with Lupus. Maybe I've had it all this time. You think?
