3 years ago I ended up in the ER with CHF and kidney failure. The first course of action was, of course, pumping me full of prednisone. I was in the ICU for 2 weeks and had gained 40 pounds! My kidney and heart docs prescribed me Lasix (water pill) and that helped tremendously! Ask your kidney doc about it and also, drinking lemon water daily really helps with water-weight loss! I have gained 65 pounds because of steroids.

Oh I have gained so much weight over the years , then it comes off then back on. I hate it of course but you have to do whatever will help you. You might no like the way you look right now but that will be fixed it is what inside that is more important remember that. And don't pay any attention to those that keep asking why you are gaining weight and being nosey , just tell them your doctor likes you chubby ha gentle hugs and blessings

Hi Julie, em sorry to hear about how your family reacts to your weight gain. Sometimes people don't understand that there is nothing you can do about the side effects of certain medications, You just have to remember that you still fabulous love.

DeniseDrum me too! Tonight my precious well meaning Mom asked me if she could help me with anything that could lead to weight loss!! I almost cried! I have always been over weight but in my late twenties lost 100lbs . Now that I've been sick and on prednisone the pounds just jumped on! It saddens me to think my family is looking negatively on me when this weight isn't what I would want
