Anyone have pericarditis?

I found out just yesterday that my boss has it. And I wanna know more about it so I can help him !!

If so, what do you do to relieve your symptoms from it. And if you have any tips.

With Lupus SLE, I my Cardiologist every 3 months. I have spent to much time in the hospital with pericardia, Afib, and kidney failure. I hope he finds the right doctor.

I don't know much about it but if he's willing to discuss it, express your concerns and wish to understand more what he is going through. Follow his cues - even if he doesn't want to discuss it, he should still appreciate you asking. If he does share, listen and try to understand his words from his perspective. Clarify anything you don't understand as long as he is open to explaining. And don't forget to ask him in the future how he is feeling. I think it is wonderful and sweet how concerned you are. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

Fatigue and shortness of breath are primary signs of pericarditis. It came be caused by inflammatory diseases or infections. Strep is a big one for cardiac problems. Generally if secondary to infection he should be on IV antibiotics and under care of cardiologist not GP. Kind of you to worry about him.

SusanFelicianoPacheco, pericarditis is inflammation around the heart whereas pleurisy is around the lungs.

I developed pericarditis, unfortunately mine was found when I went for heart surgery because I thought I was having heart attack.

Doctors said that had I waited to come in, the sack would have filled w fluid and my heart wouldn't have any room to beat and it would just stop !

If I were your boss, I would have an echocardiogram done. It is not something to mess with
