Hi guys. I have had both my nutritionist and my rheumatologist advise me to avoid gluten, though they both seemed pretty nonchalant about it. My doctor told me this around the holidays but told me not to bother until after "cookie season" was over
I've been doing my best and sometimes I think I can tell a difference while other times it doesn't seem to make a dent. However, I've started to feel a bit weird about the level of processing of "gluten free" products, including flours, breads,… read more
Very good!! Yes, we need some kinds of grain, eggs, some red meat. These gluten free foods are so bland!! I was a vegetarian for 10 years & got really skinny & dr said I could die from crazy diets! I have a friend that claims she is a healthy vegetarian, but her sister was at my daughter’s wedding & she told me her sister cheats all the time in her “pure” diets!! Once in a blue moon I will have a Big Mac!! 🍔🍟🥫
I think everything in moderation is the best exercise to use. (& to get exercise, not to 🐷 out. 🍭 ).

Nothing new to me, I have googled it all till I was blue in the face. What is good for one is not for another. I am just telling my story, & what has been good or bad for me.
Diet is important with anyone. The diet information out their has changed over the years. Some professionals feel gluten free diets can help decrease the inflammation. It can help even with a sensitivity. You may find that it is certain types of food. You could ask your Physician on ideas of trying to eliminate food items and see how you feel. A GI doctor , Registered Dietitian, Immune/Allergy Physician or Rheumatology Physician Could help you. Since this is different for each person, what may work with me may not work with you. Your gut (GI Tract) has influence on your immune system. Since Lupus is an autoimmune disease ( means your body is fighting itself) any thing you can do to calm the immune system down may help. Always check with your Physician before changing Diets and medications, or over the counter meds. They all have impacts, and may hurt your body so check it out first.
