Does anyone have good treatments for mouth sores? I’ve gotten painful lesions on my tongue and inside my mouth for the last 35 years, and only recently found a couple products that helped. The best one is the over the counter Colgate mouthwash called Peroxyl. You are only supposed to use it for a week, but mine were gone in five days. First you should check with a specialty dentist and make sure you don't have Lichen Planus which has an ulcerative form and is also an autoimmune problem. I had a complete ulcerated mouth until I figured it out. If you have lichen Planus your chance of mouth cancer is increased by 3-5% so you need to be checked on a regular basis. Back to the ulcers. 2 medicines I was taking caused my outbreak and horrible situation. Also using regular toothpaste with mint, etc. Stop the medicines you are suspicious of - check the side effects. Toothpaste I get online. It's called Toothbuilder Sensitive and totally worth it. It's xylitol. Do not use Spry cause it is too minty. Also stay away from hot, burning spices. Good luck!
Ask your primary care doctor for a prescription for "Magic Mouthwash". You can Google it for more info. In the meantime, swish with Mylanta two or three times a day. It really works, I'm using now. Blessings!
My pediatrician once told me mouth sores are just like the ulcers in your stomach. Do 1 dose of mylanta I think that’s a tablespoon that’s what I do and smash 1 Benadryl tablet and mix together gargle for 1 min and spit do that once a day. Mine disappeared after 3 days. Without doing that my mouth sores last over a week.
I started brushing my teeth with baking soda and coconut oil. Not only does it whiten my teeth but haven't had any sores since.

As MrsV stated: Magic Mouthwash or swish and swallow works wonders. Its basically Mylanta with Lidocaine. It coats the tongue/mouth and along the throat numbing the pain as well. * Yup you can get ulcers in your throat as well. You can get a presciption from your dr or urgent care. Its VERY EFFECTIVE! I urge you to act as soon as possible to keep it from triggering a lymph node response flairing your lupus worse. Trust me i have lupus, sjorgens, psoriatic arthritis, anticardiophospholipid syndrome, raynauds, and fibromyalgia on top of it all. I know how fast 1 thing triggers another.
